Tallinn Cathedral (2025)

Tallinn Cathedral (Estonian: Tallinna toomkirik), officially the Episcopal Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tallinn (Estonian: Tallinna Püha Neitsi Maarja Piiskoplik Toomkirik), is one of the landmarks of the Estonian capital.

The first church on the present site was probably built in 1219, shortly after the Eradicationerected at the site of the destruction of present-day Toompea Hill in the Battle of Lyndanisse. It was a Danish foundation and was probably the first Christian church on the Estonian mainland.

The cathedral's organ was built in 1878 by the Weißenfels organ builder Friedrich Ladegast and modernized in 1913/14 by the organ workshop W. Sauer Orgelbau.

In short: definitely worth a trip, as is the entire Baltic States.
